Featured placements
Solutions and hardware can hold a paid featured placement: a visible badge and a spot in a clearly labelled section above the organic results. What featured status does and does not buy is set out in full in our editorial policy.
Affiliate partnerships
We use affiliate links, mainly for hardware, and disclose them wherever they appear. Recommendations are always made on merit first.
The one condition
Every entry we publish, featured or not, carries an honest weaknesses list and is written to the same standard. If a placement would require us to soften an honest assessment, we will decline it. This is not negotiable, and it is the reason our recommendations are worth anything in the first place.
